Equipment

The equipment register is your record of the machines you install and service at clients' sites: what it is, its serial number, where it is, its warranty, and its service history. It is what lets you answer "when was this unit last serviced" or "is this still under warranty" in a moment.

Equipment is under AMC & service, then Equipment register.

Adding equipment

You add equipment in two ways:

  • On a contract: when you set up an AMC, you list the machines it covers right there, and they become register entries.
  • On its own: use New equipment on the register for a unit that is not on a contract, or Import a spreadsheet to load many at once.

Each entry records the item, its model and serial number, the client and site it is at, and its warranty. Once it is in the register, every visit and service report against that machine builds up its history.

The equipment register

Why it is useful

  • A ticket, a visit or a service report can be linked to a specific machine, so its whole history is in one place.
  • Serial-tracked stock you sell can carry through to the register, so the unit you shipped is the unit you later service.
  • It shows up on the client's page too, so you see everything you look after for them at a glance.
